Aaven News and Audio
News you listen to, not scroll through
Aaven is an iPhone app that turns the news topics you pick into a natural-voice spoken briefing — for a commute, a walk, or making dinner. I'm the solo developer.
How it works: pick topics (Top Stories, Technology, Business, World, Science, Health, Sports and more) and sources once. Press play and Aaven fetches the latest headlines, summarizes them and reads them aloud one after another. Tap any story to open the original article. Reading speed is adjustable, and there's a sleep timer.
Daily extras: Wikipedia's On This Day, Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day and A.Word.A.Day ride along with the news.
Free tier: daily curated top stories plus the extras, read in a natural voice, with no account or sign-up.
Aaven Plus (monthly or yearly subscription): unlimited sources and categories, a higher-quality neural voice, offline listening and playback customization.
The app and narration are in English, so it also works as listening practice with real, current news.
