NoteOwl is a private AI meeting note taker for Mac, with fully on-device AI meeting notes. It records calls from any meeting app without adding a bot, and writes the notes for you. Transcription and AI processing run entirely on your Mac, so recordings are never uploaded. It also includes free, unlimited dictation that works in any Mac app.

Meeting notes

  • Records calls from any meeting app (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime, Webex, Discord, Slack) without adding a bot to the call.

  • Notices when a call starts and offers to take notes.

  • Jot your own notes during the call, and they're used in the summary.

  • When the call ends, you get the summary, the decisions and the action items, in 22 note formats or your own.

  • Drafts the follow-up email, a report or a post from any meeting.

Who said what

  • Recognizes speakers: every line of the conversation shows who said it.

  • Name a voice once, and NoteOwl recognizes that person in every later meeting.

  • Turn audio or video recordings into text, and tap any line to hear that moment again.

Ask your meetings

  • Ask questions across all your previous meetings. Every answer links back to the exact passage in the transcript.

  • A page for each person you meet: what you've discussed and what's still open.

  • Tracks commitments: what you promised others and what they promised you.

  • A quick briefing before each meeting on your calendar.

Free, unlimited dictation in any Mac app

  • Talk, and your words are typed where your cursor is, in any app.

  • It matches the app: casual in Slack, professional in Mail.

Fully on-device, and yours

  • Transcription and AI processing run entirely on your Mac, so recordings are never uploaded.

  • Keeps working with the Wi-Fi turned off.

  • Save any note as a PDF or text file, or export everything at once.

Understands 34 languages. Free to download for Macs with Apple chips running macOS 26 or later.
