TextShape
Free word art generator that turns text into shapes
TextShape is a free word art generator with one job: take the words you type and fit them precisely inside a shape you choose. Type a list of names, a favorite quote, or a whole speech, pick a heart, a pumpkin, a map, or your own photo, and the words fill the silhouette edge to edge. What you see in the preview is exactly what you download.
What you can make
The template gallery covers 390 plus shapes across love, pets, holidays, a full Halloween collection, sports, food, travel, all 50 US states, country maps, national symbols, letters, and more. Every template opens with a fitting phrase, a themed word list, and a color palette matched to the shape, so you start from something rather than a blank page. You can also upload any image and TextShape traces its silhouette automatically, or type a single word and fill the letterforms themselves with smaller words.
Three fill styles
Readable lines follow the contours of the shape for designs people should actually read, like vows, rosters, and memorial prints. The packed style interlocks words tightly like a word cloud, biggest words first, for dense decorative fills. The outline style runs the letters along the edge of the silhouette and leaves the middle empty. All three work with the same colors, fonts, and controls.
Color and typography
Multi-color palettes, smooth gradients, per-word styling through a special words table, draggable styled headlines with effects like neon, glitch, and glow, and a searchable font picker with live samples. There are even six ancient scripts, including Norse runes, Ogham, and Gothic, which transliterate your text for history-flavored designs.
Exports
PNG up to 4K with a transparent, solid, or photo background. A cut-ready SVG that converts every word to real vector outlines and welds overlapping letters into a single path, which cuts cleanly on Cricut and Silhouette machines for shirts, totes, and door decals. And an animated MP4 or GIF reveal that builds the design word by word for social posts.
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. Shape detection, text layout, and export all happen on your device, and your words and photos are never uploaded anywhere. That makes TextShape safe for classroom word clouds of student writing, survey responses, and personal keepsakes with names and dates in them. There is no account to create and no watermark on anything you export.
Who uses it
Teachers make classroom door signs and end-of-year gifts from the whole class's words. Crafters cut vinyl monograms and seasonal signs. Families make anniversary prints, nursery art, pet memorials, and wedding keepsakes. Marketers make word clouds from customer feedback that never leaves the machine. If a moment has words attached to it, there is probably a shape here that fits.
TextShape is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no export limits. Open it in any modern browser on a phone or a laptop and start typing.
