Pray Focus

Pray Focus helps Christians build a prayer habit by block distracting apps.

Pray Focus

Pray Focus is a Christian habit-building app designed to help believers develop a consistent daily prayer practice while reducing time spent on distracting apps and social media. The idea behind the project is simple. Many people want to pray more consistently, but modern digital environments make focus difficult. Constant notifications, endless scrolling, and busy schedules often push prayer to the side.

Pray Focus introduces a small but meaningful change to daily routines. At a chosen time each day, selected apps automatically lock until a short prayer session is completed. Instead of opening social media immediately, users are encouraged to pause for a few minutes of prayer and reflection. This transforms everyday screen time into a deliberate moment of spiritual focus.

The app combines spiritual content with habit-building tools. Guided prayers are organized into categories such as gratitude, peace, guidance, love, family, work, hope, and joy. These prayers help users find words during different situations in life and provide structure for a daily practice.

For Christians who prefer personal prayer, the app also includes an open prayer mode. This mode allows users to set a timer during which distracting apps remain locked while they pray, read scripture, meditate, or reflect in silence.

After completing a prayer session, users can record their thoughts or emotions in a built-in prayer journal. A simple mood tracker helps capture how a person felt before or after praying. Over time, these entries create a personal record of spiritual reflection and growth.

Consistency is supported through gentle reminders and streak tracking. These features encourage regular practice without creating pressure or competition. The intention is to make prayer feel like a natural and sustainable rhythm in daily life rather than a task to complete.

Pray Focus was created with the goal of helping Christians reclaim a small portion of their day from digital distraction and dedicate it to prayer. Even a few focused minutes each day can help establish a habit that strengthens faith, improves mindfulness, and creates a more intentional relationship with technology.

The project explores how digital tools, often seen as distractions, can instead be used to support spiritual discipline and help believers stay connected to their faith in everyday life.
